Explore a cutting-edge opportunity as a Research Technician where you will be part of a leading research team working on novel therapeutics for hard-to-treat cancers.
About the RoleAs a key member of our team, you will assist in the implantation of cancerous cells and patient-derived xenografts, treatment, monitoring, and dissection of experimental animals (mice) and processing of tissue samples using histological methods.
About the WorkYou will work closely with researchers to support cellular and molecular biology techniques, including retroviral and lentiviral transductions in mammalian cells, transient transfections, RNA/DNA/protein extraction, qPCR, western blot, and immune fluorescence and histochemistry.
The Ideal Candidate- A relevant tertiary qualification in Science or equivalent experience in animal handling is essential.
- Strong practical experience with sample processing and laboratory equipment is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team are necessary.
- Well-developed organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines are also important.
Occasional weekend and after-hours work may be required. You will need to hold a current 'C' class driver's licence and National Police Clearance Certificate.
