**The Department**

SBS Technology can be thought of as the 'engine room' of SBS. Our primary role is to enable and support the production, distribution, and transmission of content across television, radio, and online platforms. Our teams achieve this by working collaboratively to design innovative solutions and deliver end-to-end services for our business stakeholders.

**The Role**

The Business Manager is a leadership role in Technology with overall accountability for efficiently managing the operational and capital budgets of the SBS Technology Division in order to achieve corporate goals including specified KPIs, and ownership and accountability for the Division's annual budget preparation, twice yearly forecast and 4-year financial plans with high levels of accuracy. The role collaborates effectively with stakeholders across SBS in order to achieve organisational goals.

Reporting into the Head of Technology Strategy and Architecture, this role will see you:

- Assist with the strategic direction and management of the Technology Division's business operations and budget;
- Manage the operating and capital budgets of the Technology Division in order to achieve corporate goals;
- Drive effective and efficient relationships with vendors including procurement and contractual management;
- Collaborate and partner with the Finance Division for accounting, compliance / reporting or audit related needs for Technology

**About you**

Ideally, you will have:

- Demonstrated passion and understanding for SBS purpose, values and charter.
- Demonstrated experience in managing large financial budgets, both operational and capital
- Experience in complex financial analysis, understanding and leading a long-term budget process.
- Knowledge and understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and Principles and Contractor/Vendor contracts
- Prior experience with Technology vendors (Broadcast and media industry would be ideal)
- Strong business casing, and financial modelling skills
- Demonstrated experience in people leadership with passion for coaching and mentoring staff and fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion.
