The New Acland Coal Mine (NAC), a thin seam open cut mining operation is owned and managed by New Hope Group. NAC based in Acland, 35km north-west of Toowoomba, has played a key role in the Darling Downs region as an employer and economic contributor since it began operation in October 2002.

We are seeking a Finance Superintendent based on site in Acland to lead the NAC finance and accounting function, and to provide financial leadership and strategic direction in partnership with our head office.

**About the role**:

- Manage the forecasting and budgeting process, including analysis and reporting
- Operate the site expenditure board and cost management initiatives
- Prepare periodic management accounts, reports and analysis for New Acland Coal Mine
- Collate information including financial statements and New Hope Group Reporting
- Develop and maintain systems and processes to ensure accurate and appropriate information is recorded for analysis and reporting
- Review and establish efficient management practices to partner with leaders on site
- Provide leadership and guidance to site team

**You will bring**:

- Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, commerce or business
- Strong experience (5+ years) Experience with mining and resource accounting, budgeting and forecasting, including physical and financial analysis and performance reporting
- Experienced with Enterprise Resource Planning (M3) and Reporting (PowerBI) software
- Detailed knowledge of statutory reporting and accounting standards
- Proven experience in leading a team in a fast paced environment
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of a mining operation, including head office and build productive relationships
- Be able to work as part of team both on and off site
