**About the Company**

A leading Australian University is seeking a Infrastructure Platform lead to come and join their Canberra based office for a full-time, permanent opportunity.

**About the Role**

Reporting into the Associate Director of IT Infrastructure, as an Infrastructure Platform Lead you will assume responsibility for high-level technical support of on-premise physical & virtual computer services, storage services, enterprise backup/recovery services & cloud computing infrastructure. Some of your responsibilities will include:

- Providing expert technical advice regarding the current & future design and use of storage/computer platforms, consistently developing and reviewing platforms
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to contribute to planning and management of platform lifecycles including design, implementation and performance & manage incident requests & projects
- Utilise system management tools to determine load and performance statistics & manage incident resolution
- Identify any risks & issues (security), define user access controls and security systems

**About You**

In order to be a successful applicant you will have demonstrated experience in the design, installation, maintenance and management expertise, or an equivalent combination of experience and training. You will also have:

- High level technical knowledge of infrastructure & computer system including but not limited to VMware, Storage (SAN) & cloud
- Skills in Automation & scripting to move solutions to the cloud (desirable)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide strategic advice on IT systems development and hands-on experience in developing and supporting critical systems in a multi-platform environment
- Preferably demonstrated experience working within Higher education
- The ability to work collaboratively with a variety of technical and business experts and experience developing comprehensive written reports and technical and procedural documentation.
- Have full Australian working rights and be Canberra based, or open to regular travel.
