Science communication is at the heart of what we do. We work with partners and supporters to deliver inspirational learning experiences for young Australians, their teachers, families and communities.

**The opportunity**

Questacon's Education Programs section is seeking people who are highly enthusiastic about education, to deliver programs that help teachers to engage their students in learning Science, Technology and Mathematics (STEM). As a member of the team, you will travel around Australia to deliver these programs aimed at reaching under-represented audiences including women, regional and remote communities, and Indigenous audiences, to inspire students to consider future STEM careers. Our two main programs are:

- _**Engineering is Elementary**_ provides professional development workshops for educators to empower them to teach engineering concepts in their own classrooms. The program provides primary school educators and leadership with training and resources to directly implement cross-curricular units of work in their classrooms with an engineering focus. _Engineering is Elementary_ is an exciting and immersive professional development program developed by the Museum of Science, Boston and delivered in Australia by Questacon.
- _**Questacon STEM Futures**_ is a professional development program for primary educators, secondary educators and school leadership that enhances their skills and capacity to design and implement their own STEM programs and supports school leaders to plan and embed a STEM culture in their schools. Questacon collaborates with educators and local stakeholders to co-develop and deliver this program to ensure that it meets their needs and aligns with state and national STEM strategies.

**What you will do**

Questacon's Education Programs Section works with teachers and other educational stakeholders to deliver meaningful, impactful professional learning and inspiring education experiences for students. The team works to develop and sustain communities of practice across the country to support educators and build connections with STEM professionals, to ensure young Australians have the skills needed to enter the STEM workforce.

As part of the team you will help to develop innovative educational resources and deliver workshops for teachers, school leaders and other educational stakeholders across Australia. This includes delivering workshops virtually through video conferencing, as well as up to 10 weeks of travel a year to deliver in-person workshops in metropolitan, regional and remote areas, generally for a week or two at a time.

The main goal of the team is to inspire educators to inclusively engage their students in learning STEM content and subsequently develop the STEM skills and characteristics needed for Australia's future. Each member of the team plays an important role in achieving this goal. The roles and responsibilities of people at different levels in the team are:
