**About the Role**

This is an exciting long-term opportunity for an experienced program lead with strong leadership and project management expertise, along with a deep understanding of cancer care and the challenges facing people with rare and less common cancers.

The Program Lead will play a pivotal role in the development of the first Optimal Care Pathway (OCP) for people with rare and less common cancers in Australia. They will oversee and coordinate the development of a nationally recognised OCP including governance, literature review, stakeholder engagement and consultation, ensuring alignment with the priorities and approach outlined by Cancer Australia and the Australian Cancer Plan.

This position requires strong leadership and project management expertise, as well as a deep understanding of cancer care and the challenges facing people with rare and less common cancers.

To be considered for this role, you must have the following relevant experience, skills, knowledge of the healthcare industry, and the required qualifications/certificates:
**Program management and leadership**
- Lead the end-to-end development of an Optimal Care Pathway for rare and less common cancers, a Quick Reference Guide and a Consumer Guide.
- Establish, support, and guide an Expert Working Group to define standards and milestones for the pathway, addressing all stages of the cancer care continuum and contributing multidisciplinary perspectives.
- Establish, support and guide a Steering Group.
- Support the Chairs of the Expert Working Group and Steering Group through briefings and advice, meeting management and drafting of meeting papers and outputs.
- Develop and manage program plans, including milestones and budget.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to keep the program on track.
- Manage the OCP contract and program reporting requirements, maintaining a strong and collaborative relationship with Cancer Australia, the program funder.

**Stakeholder engagement and co-design**
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including clinicians, healthcare providers, patient organisations and patient advocates.
- Design and deliver public consultation and use a range of communication and engagement techniques to ensure diverse and representative contributions to the OCP.

**Policy development and communications**
- Oversee the delivery of a literature review and conduct research and analysis.
- Clearly synthesise and present evidence, consultation responses and insights.
- Effectively communicate the program's aims, progress and outputs with a range of audiences.
