As our **Site Surveillance Officer**for the Central region, you are V/Line's on-the-ground representative.
Working closely with Project Engineers and the Project Manager, you ensure that the Structures and Station works are delivered to V/Line standards.
**About the role**
The success of your work as a **Site Surveillance Officer** lies in building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent communication skills are essential as you will be involved with matters of safety, site access, surveillance, reporting, compliance, and handovers.
Reporting responsibilities include:
- Monitoring works and reworks to make sure they are constructed in accordance with V/Line Standards & Specifications.
- Reporting identified issues in a timely manner and providing clear recommendations to ensure ongoing safe and effective performance.
- Maintaining a diary of observations and escalating to the Project Manager as required.
- Accepting, witnessing, and reviewing handback and handover documentation.
- Completing risk assessments and coordinating & ensuring site access is carried out in accordance with the relevant contract documentation and V/Line procedures.
- Auditing compliance with agreed site access requirements, working safely in the rail environment, and safe working practices.
- Liaising with V/Line Operations and Maintenance personnel.
- Managing and coordinating occupations required to complete the works.
- Reporting all safety, security, and environmental incidents as per V/Line procedures SAPR-3.
Safety responsibilities include:
- Ensuring site works are undertaken safely and in accordance with developed documentation on behalf of V/Line.
- Completing **Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Incident & Hazard Reporting**, ensuring all safety, security, and environmental incidents, close calls, and hazards are reported, providing clear recommendations to ensure ongoing safe and effective performance.
**On-Site Requirements**
It is essential to know this role is based **'on site'**and requires the ability to work in a complex occupation regime with works occurring 24 hours a day.
There are requirements for **travel**, and you must have a current, valid **Victorian Driver Licence**.
A **Tool-of-Trade**vehicle will be provided, with reimbursements for all travel-related meals and accommodation.
This role has provisions for **Out-of-Hours Work**, **Shiftwork**, and **Overtime**.

Essential requirements:
- Substantial demonstrated professional experience in **site surveillance** or as a **site supervisor**, ideally in a rail environment in Track, Civil, Structures, or OCS assets.
- You are required to hold a valid Track Safety Awareness credential, specifically the **TLIF0020** **Safely access the rail corridor** (SARC).
- Familiarity with the Rail Safety Act 2006 (Vic), and a sound understanding of rail standards and operating procedures.
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management.

**What we offer**
Salary range for this permanent, ongoing role is from **$102,055** Total Remuneration Package (Base salary $91,529; Superannuation $10,256).
There are provisions for **Out-of-Hours Work**, **Shiftwork**, and **Overtime**.
Benefits include 4 weeks' annual leave and free myki for metro & regional travel.
**Essential information**
This is a **Medical Category 3** role.
The selection process may include assessments, a behavioural event interview, probity (police check), reference checks, and a medical.
You must have a current, valid **Victorian Driver Licence**. A Tool-of-Trade vehicle will be provided, with reimbursements for all travel-related meals & accommodation.
You must have an **Employee Working with Children (WWC)** check (or the ability to obtain a WWC check prior to commencing employment).
