Join team CSIRO as our new Advisor Training and Guidance, Security and Resilience where you will leverage your learning and development expertise to a great team who celebrate wins and support each other to develop and stretch themselves in an inclusive, safe environment. Reporting to the Manager, Security Operations you will be a part of the CSIRO team responsible for protecting CSIRO's people, research and reputation against a range of threats, including foreign interference.

You will be working to help formulate engaging, coherent training and guidance to support CSIRO's people to meet their security obligations while maintaining their focus on the science. You will work on such initiatives as, developing CSIRO's mandatory security eLearning, formulating and delivering face-to-face learning, consulting, writing and negotiating principles, procedures and guidelines, and supporting our security allies across the organisation to deliver our security priorities.

**Your duties will include**:

- Consult, collate and create the content for CSIRO's mandatory security eLearning course, working with design specialists to ensure it is engaging and informative to people with a wide range of security literacies.
- Consult, collate and negotiate content for security principles, procedures and guidance, working with a range of stakeholders to determine their needs, and tailoring solutions to potentially conflicting requirements, to ensure our offerings are comprehensive and coherent.
- Design and deliver training and education offerings for a range of internal stakeholders.
- Participate in a wide range of routine security activities, some of which will involve access to sensitive information, as part of a team that works to back each other up and provide redundancy.
- Under limited direction, use your learning and development expertise to lead a small number of projects, achieving results through the use and allocation of available resources, within constraints laid down by managers and taking responsibility for delivering results.
- Display a willingness to influence the decision of managers by recognising the need for change in initiating innovative solutions/proposals and liaise with and influence related professions to develop practices, which support the Business Unit.
- Communicate openly, effectively and respectfully with all staff, clients and suppliers in the interests of good business practice, collaboration and enhancement of CSIRO's reputation.
- Occasionally represent CSIRO externally within the security sector.

**Salary**:AU$102,724 - AU$111,165 plus up to 15.4% superannuation

**To be considered you will need**:

- Proven experience in developing learning and development offerings in a range of contexts, collecting material from a range of sources, tailoring it to the audience, and catering for a range of literacy with the topic.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, including negotiating key outcomes, and providing persuasive advice in the face of divergent views while continuing to foster trust.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, communicate from the audience's perspective, and prioritise the key message.
- Demonstrated ability to influence strategic direction and translate strategic direction to effective operational action.
- Demonstrated ability to be a positive team player, promote inclusive and welcoming team culture and values, and value and encourage others' skills and experience in a diverse team.
