**The Role**

Reporting into the Head of Product and Proposition, the Product Consultant will support the management of a portfolio of competitive, customer oriented, compliant and profitable product solutions through the delivery of BAU and project activities.

Customer Solutions develop and manage innovative and market-leading solutions that meet the changing needs of our customers to and through retirement, support our partners, grow our people and deliver value for MLCL. Strong product lifecycle management drives sales, enhances the customer and adviser experience and satisfaction, manages risk, and grows portfolio value.

**Accountabilities include**:

- Ensure the portfolio remains competitive, customer oriented and profitable, by supporting the development, implementation and ongoing management of product and regulatory change initiatives
- Develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, and leverage those relationships to achieve business objectives
- Develop product knowledge to provide a central source of product expertise within the organisation
- Support the implementation of product and regulatory change initiatives and projects and ensure that all product changes are accurately reflected in in relevant administration/quotation systems and disclosure documents
- Actively manage product mailboxes to ensure queries are resolved within service standards, and themes are identified to drive process and efficiency improvements
- Actively manage website content to ensure remains current and compliant
- Support the compliance, risk management and Event management of the portfolio, including identification and investigation activities
- Proactively manage risk; meet all policy and compliance requirements; perform controls; adhere to Process and Procedures pertinent to role; and escalate events, issues or breaches as they are identified

**About You**
- Prior product experience is essential
- Degree qualifications in a business-related field including finance, marketing, legal or financial planning highly regarded
- Prior experience in a role within the Australian insurance industry preferable
- RG146 qualification or a willingness to obtain
- Developed analytical and problem-solving skills
- Developed interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders and resolve issues
- Ability to identify and articulate business problems and potential solutions
- Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously, to achieve planned goals and objectives
- Ability to work under pressure whilst continuing to make effective decisions
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
