- **Junior Designer** for Womenswear to join a dynamic team at French Connection. Reporting to the Buyer Manager for Women's Apparel, you will be responsible for assisting in the innovative design and development of the women's collection.
- The role is integral to deliver the brand purpose 'to empower women to look and feel confident every day' through offering a premium and accessible women's clothing collection that is on-trend, quality driven and versatile.**THE ROLE**:

- Assisting the Buying Manager with selecting, designing, ranging, and quantifying the collection across all categories in womenswear
- Present trend research ahead of key ranging sessions
- Through an understanding of forward trends and sales history, maximise opportunities for the department
- Illustrating for style files
- Set up line sheets as per option plan
- Work with the Buying Manager and Merchandise Planner to set up seasonal class / sales and spend budgets
- Gain a working knowledge of the gross profit objectives for womenswear including aged stock and forward seasons
- In conjunction with the Buying Manager and Merchandise Planner, analyse class and style performance on a weekly, monthly, and seasonal basis
- Analyse weekly sales reports to determine best sellers, sell-throughs, and problem styles / colours
- Organise samples for weekly trade meeting
- Work closely with the Production Coordinators to ensure campaign and PR samples are received in line with handover dates

**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE**:

- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent in Fashion Design (preferred)
- Experience in a Design or Buying Assistant role
- Experience in fashion retailing desirable
- Understanding of local market and fashion trends
- Comprehensive Adobe Suite knowledge, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop
- Proven ability to create CAD drawings
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel & Outlook
- Proficient computer literacy skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Good time management and organisational skills
