**YOUR OPPORTUNITY**

Due to exciting growth in the business, we are looking for an expert** Product Manager - Mechanical Engineering / Power Transmission** to join our high performing Category team based in **Macquarie Park **to provide an exceptional level of service to all customers.

Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Validating technical inquiries that come from within the business and external customers
- Linking with sales teams to explore sales opportunities in the mechanical field
- Evaluating Blackwoods range and optimising range and filling in gaps by negotiating the best deals in the market and maintain products on our web and print catalogue
- Product identification from data sets of key customers and advising products from Blackwoods range
- Developing relationships with suppliers in product range, by owning the range and developing plans for growth
- Maintaining cost increases with suppliers in the product range

To be successful, you will have:

- Proven working experience in mechanical engineering, specifically mechanical power transmission, belts, bearings and gearing.
- Ability to influence supplier and negotiate in difficult situations
- Knowledge of product development, sourcing or category management in a B2B business or a major OEM or industrial supplier
- Experience managing supplier portfolios and looking for ways to improve categories or commercial positions
- Australian industry experience is essential, and sales experience is highly regarded
