The Continuous Shift Clinical Assistant role at Pathology Queensland TPCH Core Laboratory works day, evening, and overnight shifts as a member of the laboratory team to provide a 24/7 Central Specimen Reception (CSR) service by participating in general preanalytical duties specifically relating to the CSR and where required relating to Specimen Collection or general laboratory duties.
What you'll do
Perform pre-analytical processes consistently and accurately, by maintaining competency in all areas of Central Specimen Reception including but not limited to specimen processing, data entry, aliquoting and referral of specimens.
Perform collection of appropriate quality blood and non-blood specimens from clients of Pathology Queensland as per documented protocols when required by service delivery.
About you
**We are searching for someone with**:
Demonstrated experience in or the ability to rapidly learn pre-analytical processes in a complex specimen reception/specimen collection unit.
Ability to efficiently prioritise workloads, show initiative, problem solve and work effectively without direct supervision.
Proven ability to work effectively as a team member and to communicate effectively with clients, clinical staff and colleagues, including the ability to work across the TPCH Group Laboratories.
Demonstrated ability to participate in quality and service improvement activities in accordance with National Association of Testing Authority/International Standardisation Organisation (NATA/ISO) accreditation / certification.
