About the Role
The Environmental Services Assistant is responsible for providing a safe, clean Ward/Unit environment in accordance with Infection Control and Occupational Safety and Health regulations. Under the direction and supervision of the Environmental Service Coordinator, you will provide effective support contributing to the operational support of the hospital. You will be working within a fast-paced team-focused environment within the Shepparton Private Hospital.
Responsibilities
Highest standards of cleanliness to all areas, including wards and operating theatres.
Ensure all equipment utilised on shifts is cleaned, restocked and stored in the appropriate storage areas.
Waste removal tasks.
Work in a friendly and supportive manner at all times.
Adhere to all infection control guidelines and principles.
About You
Prior experience in a cleaning role within a healthcare setting is desirable.
Highly motivated and positive attitude with meticulous attention to detail.
Reliable.
Availability to work morning / afternoon / evening and weekend shifts required.
Proven ability to work effectively in a team structure and independently as required.
Understanding of Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Proven experience with hazard identification.
Understanding of hygiene principles.
Flexible to work a rotating roster with a variety of shifts available (Desirable).
Additionally, you will
Perform all cleaning tasks, including decontamination of beds and cleaning of Wards and equipment (Desirable).
Have a proactive willingness to learn and acquire a good understanding of hospital procedures.
Collaborate with and support clinical staff.
Identify risks and hazards and report promptly to ensure that safety measures are maintained.
Perform other adhoc duties as required and requested by management.
