**Your new role**
- Program management of new and existing workforce programs and grants, including assisting in the development of New Policy Proposals for Budget initiatives.
- Develop, manage, and deliver projects, including project plans, evaluations, and reporting.
- Interpret, draft, and advise on complex policy and procedural directions.
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of wider rural distribution policies, strategic projects, and objectives.
- Liaise with other sections, external agencies and external stakeholders and facilitate cross-agency or cross-sector implementation and delivery.
- Prepare briefing materials, correspondence, reports, and other products for the Minister, departmental executives, and for industry stakeholders.
- Manage multiple tasks and the timely completion of projects, including procurement and contract management.
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of government policies and objectives.
- Contribute to the development of team objectives, work plans and strategic planning.
- Take responsibility for managing own performance and actively contribute to achieving the goals of the section.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Experience in program and grants management, including initiation and ongoing management, preferably in the Commonwealth environment.
- Experience in briefing against program outcomes and issues.
- Well-developed research, analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. The ability to confidently present messages in a clear, concise, and articulate manner.
- The ability to identify broader factors, trends and influences that may impact outcomes/objectives.
- Strong adaptability, initiative, sound judgement and decision-making capabilities.
- The ability to develop and maintain productive, trusted relationships and work collaboratively and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a small team to deliver results.
- Organisational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
