The Role
We're seeking a Workshop assistant/ Storeman to join the team.
This role will see you working across workshop, warehouse, and dispatch activities, with a focus on driveshaft assembly and repairs.
You'll play a key part in keeping their operations running smoothly and ensuring customers receive their orders on time.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out workshop tasks, including driveshaft assembly and repairs
* Operate machinery and equipment including forklifts, tractors, and gantry cranes
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop and warehouse
* Manage spare parts stock—putting orders away, processing returns, and working within a bin-coded shelving system
* Pick, pack, and dispatch customer orders with accuracy and attention to detail
* Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently
* Use computer systems for dispatch bookings, stock records, and basic reporting

Skills & Experience:
* Mechanical knowledge and experience (exposure to tractors or cranes highly advantageous)
* Experience with forklift, tractor, and gantry crane operation (or willingness to learn)
* Good communication skills and ability to ask questions when needed
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in part picking and dispatch
* Basic computer skills (confidence navigating systems)
