Burns Beach Primary School (PS) are seeking to establish a pool of passionate and creative Primary – Music Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2027.
Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
Burns Beach PS is situated in the beautiful beachside suburb of Burns Beach and opened its doors to students from Kindergarten to Year 6 in 2022.

The Role
Burns Beach PS is seeking an energetic and passionate Music Specialist to lead and inspire our students through a dynamic and inclusive music program.
This role plays a vital part in enriching our school culture, supporting staff and students, and engaging our wider community through music.
As our Music Specialist, you would:
Lead engaging classroom music lessons aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum for Kindergarten to Year 6 students
Coordinate and conduct school performances, including end-of-year events and assemblies
Manage and encourage our Instrumental Music School Services (IMSS) program
Lead the school choir and other extra-curricular music initiatives
Foster strong relationships with students, staff, and families
Create a fun, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance whole-school arts initiatives.

Confident in planning, delivering, and assessing a rich music curriculum

The ability to establish genuine, positive, and caring relationships with our students is paramount.
Our pastoral care whole school approaches ensure each student is engaged, belongs, and feels connected to our school.
Knowledge, understanding and experience in implementing Classroom Management Strategies (CMS), Instructional Strategies for Engagement (ISE), Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), The Zones of Regulation and Protective Behaviours is highly desirable.
We work as a team to support our students to successfully develop their dispositions for learning such as curiosity, openness, optimism, resilience, concentration and, critical and creative thinking.

All staff and students are supported to understand, acknowledge, and celebrate the diversity and richness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures.

All educators will ideally take a personal and collective responsibility for improving student learning and wellbeing and will work together and learn from each other's practices, utilising strategies such as peer observations and walkthroughs.
Burns Beach PS educators participate in whole school, phase of learning and curriculum teams to contribute to whole school approaches to teaching and learning.
