**About the Role**:
We are seeking collaborative and skilled individuals who will deliver a range of services in our Behaviour and Specialist Programs Team. You will deliver high level therapeutic case management, consultation to school teams and work proactivity in the area of supporting learning and teaching. You will work in collaboration with other members of the Behaviour and Specialist Programs Team, other Wellbeing Directorate teams and teams within the Learning Directorate to provide a holistic approach to support students with complex and challenging behaviours. More specifically you will:

- Work within a multi tiered system of support (MTSS) model.
- Respond to referrals from our school counsellor colleagues who are requesting intensive support of an identified student and their family.
- Manage a caseload of varying degrees of complexity.
- Work within an intensive therapeutic case management model.
- Work within a multidisciplinary team of teachers, psychologists and social workers.
- Collaborate with schools and other professionals to support them in meeting the needs of students presenting with complex and challenging behaviours.
- Engage and work intensively with families to support their child and to strengthen home-school partnerships across different schools. The role may require conducting home visits.
- Liaise with external agencies and professionals to enhance student support
- Support leaders and staff to respond effectively to student risk.
- Collaborate with the school team and other stakeholders to construct tier 3 behaviour plans.
- Consult and work with schools to conduct risk assessments and construct risk management plans to mitigate the risks presented by the student.
- Willingness to travel to any school site across the Parramatta Diocese.
- Willingness to create and deliver professional learning to our school and the wider community, across our Diocese.

**About you**:
To be successful in this highly rewarding role, you will demonstrate alignment to the core purpose and values of CSPD along with:

- Have demonstrated understanding of the mental health needs of children and young people
- Experience in complex case management.
- Experience in counselling families, children and young people using evidence-based interventions
- Experience in cognitive, emotional and behavioural assessment of children and young people
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience as a registered Psychologist or Social Worker
- Have the capacity to make a significant contribution within our system of schools to matters related to student welfare and wellbeing
- Demonstrate evidence based professionally informed judgement in dealing with sensitive issues
- Demonstrate the capacity to engage students, parents and teachers in the counselling process
- The capability to facilitate parent and care-giver education
- Be supportive of our Catholic ethos

**Qualifications and accreditations**:

- Relevant tertiary qualification
- Eligible for membership with Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) OR general registration as a psychologist with The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Compliance with NSW Child Protection Legislation - Working with Children Check clearance
