Business Trainee: Department Of Justice And

NextGen Jobs is hiring a Business Trainee to support the **Department of Justice and Community Safety.** Do you have an interest in launching your career in the **government **while earning a **Certificate III in Business?**

This **12 month traineeship** based in **Cherry Creek **provides support to the Business Services team to ensure the department can operate in an effective and efficient manner.

**Youth Employment Scheme (YES)**

The YES is a Victorian State Government funded initiative designed to increase the workforce participation of young people, particularly those facing significant barriers to employment. **Eligibility Criteria**
- Be aged between 15 and 29 years at the commencement of the traineeship
- Not currently engaged in tertiary education
- Not have attained a university level qualification (excluding 1-4 certificates)

**Position Overview**
- Youth Justice promotes the personal development of young people who are appearing before, or have been sentenced by the court, to contribute to the reduction of crime through community based supervision and support services.

**Are you**:

- A good communicator with strong interpersonal skills?
- Able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines?
- Able to collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders?

**Key accountabilities**
- Complete general administrative functions such as answering telephones, sorting mail, meeting room bookings, data processing and filling.
- Assist and provide support to the Business Services staff on various tasks and projects.
- Create and maintain various records and correspondence—both manual and electronic.
- General word processing and data entry.
- Assist with Stores functions such as inventory control, goods receiving and delivery.
- Liaise with people at all levels, both within and outside of the Department.
- Any reasonable additional tasks as required or requested by the Assistant Manager Business Service
- Adhere to legislative requirements and occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
- Complete TAFE studies to get your Certificate III in Business
