Job: - Network Infrastructure Engineer- (Must have Negative Vetting Level 1 Clearance)Duration: - 12 Months (Possible Extension Up to a maximum of 24 Months)Location: - Canberra (Hybrid)Estimated Start Date: - Saturday, 01 November 2025We are looking for an experienced Network Infrastructure Engineer for a long-term contract with one of our Federal Government Clients.Required SkillsAt least five (5) years demonstrated experience in the design, management and maintenance of internet gateway and/or large-scale data centre networking environment.Demonstrated experience and technical proficiency in the design of services utilising F5/Blue Coat Layer 4-7 switching/load balancing and proxy systems.Demonstrated experience in the design and deployment of network infrastructure including Cisco Data centre technologies like Cisco ACI, Cisco Routers, nexus switches, routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, EIGRPDemonstrated experience with and/or detailed understanding of Palo Alto firewalls and IPS SolutionsDemonstrated experience in the design and implementation of VPN technologies, email and DNS (Infoblox) Solutions.Demonstrated experience in the design and integration of hybrid and public cloud services.Demonstrated experience in the development and maintenance of system architecture and design documentation.Demonstrated experience with or knowledge of Australian Government information security policies, the ASD Information Security Manual and Essential Eight.ResponsibilitiesDesign/evaluate/implement infrastructure requirements to meet future infrastructure demandProvide expert technical support for project build, test and solution deployment activitiesPrepare, review and maintain documentation which may include design documentation, implementation plans, test plans, and support proceduresAssist in the development and implementation of strategies, operational policy and procedures and change initiativesParticipate in change management process and communicate the end-to-end implications of configuration changesProvide detailed, specialist technical advice, including strategic advice to the senior executiveProactively share knowledge and expertise as the subject matter expert, and aid and mentorship to less experienced colleaguesUndertake research on emerging technologies and provide recommendations on product suitability for the agencyEngage and partner with other agencies and service providers to build service delivery capabilityAttend interagency meetings and forums to influence business outcomes and share informationEncourage innovation, continuous improvement and manage and support change and influence and contribute to ICT strategy resolving conflicts as neededManage the operation of backup, high availability and disaster recovery solutions for IT systemsManage the regular maintenance of patches and support packages for all technical layersManage the administration and operation of the Gateway network kitVisa Status and Security ClearanceCandidates Must be an Australian Citizen. Candidates must have NV1 Security Clearance.Special ConditionsThe Candidates must work from the specified office location (Canberra) for a minimum of 6 weeks before a WFHA will be considered.Any WFHA will require to work in the specified office location a minimum of 3 days per week.
