As an Apprentice Spray Painter, you will work under the guidance of experienced Spray Painters to learn the skills and techniques required to produce high quality finishes on heavy vehicles.Role responsibilitiesAs an Apprentice Spray Painter at Wales Truck Repairs, you will learn:Cleaning, sanding, and masking vehicle surfaces to prepare it for paintMixing and matching paint colours to accurately match desired colourUsing spray guns and other equipment to apply paint evenly and smoothly onto vehicle surfacesApplying primers and sealers to promote paint adhesion, prevent rust, and create a solid foundation for the topcoatApplying multiple layers of paint, including basecoat, clearcoat, and other specialised coatingsSkilfully blending new paint into existing areasPerforming detailed touch-ups to correct imperfectionsCreating special textures, patterns, or effects using different techniquesMonitoring and controlling drying and curing processesInspecting painted surfaces for flawsAdhering to safety protocols, using proper ventilation, protective gear, and ensuring a safe working environment for oneself and others.You will be required to:Follow all safety policies and procedures, ensuring appropriate PPE is worn at all timesHandle all company tools and equipment with due care and attention ensuring they remain safe, clean and in a workable conditionComplete all course theory work by the due date as requiredDoes this sound like you?
