Learning Area Leader

**The Role**
The Learning Area Leader for English, EAL and Literacy works closely with the Deputy Principal Learning and Teaching, and with the support of the Heads of Learning and Teaching oversees the development and implementation of a comprehensive English curriculum across all year levels. This role is also responsible for providing leadership in the development of the College's English as a Second Language (EAL) curriculum and literacy programs to enhance student learning outcomes and support the Literacy Leader.
**Skills and experience**

- Demonstrate an understanding and acceptance of the Thomas Carr College Vision and Mission Statement and the values that underpin it
- Show the capacity to provide leadership that is characterised by a desire for continuous improvement, lateral thinking and innovation
- Demonstrate proven organisational skills
- Demonstrate highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to liaise and communicate effectively with people at all levels and from varying backgrounds
- Work independently and effectively in the face of changing priorities, deadlines and pressures
- Demonstrate the qualities of an exemplary teacher
