About us
The Red Lily Health Board Aboriginal Corporation (RLHB) is a regional health service that aims to empower Aboriginal people in the West Arnhem region. We are seeking to address health issues in the community with the long-term vision of improving health outcomes by establishing a regional Aboriginal community-controlled model of service delivery.
About Jabiru
You will find Jabiru 255 km east of Darwin. The township is surrounded by Kakadu National Park boasting wetlands, billabongs, and wildlife. You can enjoy your time off exploring the region, fishing in the waterways, cooling off in the swimming pool, or taking part in the community's many sporting activities. The brand-new modern health clinic opened in September 2024.
About the Team
The position will be part of the Red Lily Clinical Services team that provides primary health care in the West Arnhem region (including homelands). Coordination with other communities and teams within Red Lily and beyond will be necessary to ensure that the communities receive high-quality services and achieve optimal outcomes.
About the Role
You will be responsible for providing high-quality and culturally appropriate primary healthcare to the people of Jabiru and homelands, including visitors. This position requires an understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal health, principles of Primary Health Care, and relevant legislation governing work practices in a remote health setting.
You will be part of a team that includes the Health Centre Manager, GP, Remote Area Nurses, Aboriginal Health Practitioners, and administrative staff working alongside community engagement workers, as well as a wide range of outreach specialists and service providers. The position will be supported by an experienced remote leadership team reporting to the Director of Primary Healthcare.
Benefits
Base Salary up to $130,000 pa + Super
Penalty rates for overtime and call outs + on-call allowance
Fares out of Isolated Lands allowance
Generous leave entitlements (7+ weeks of paid leave, leave loading, and additional leave accruals)

Relevant clinical staff provided with fully air-conditioned and furnished accommodation free of charge, including phone, internet, and utilities while working at the health centre

About You
Current registration with AHPRA
Experience in remote area settings in Australia
Proven clinical experience and adaptability
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A commitment to ongoing professional development
Willing to travel to remote communities by air and 4WD
Participate in a 24-hour on-call roster
