Recycling Operations Manager

**About the Position**:
Due to internal growth, our client is seeking a Recycling Operations Manager to coordinate and manage all South Australia Recycling's (SR) Operations and logistics, always ensuring their company values are applied regarding Safety, Integrity, Teamwork, Social Responsibility, and Innovation.

Reporting to the Business Manager,** the key accountabilities of this role will include**:

- Managing delivery of operational processing, logistics and shipping services for all SR Recycling requirements through direct and sub-contractors
- Coordination of Wastepaper Stock to meet supply obligations - Coordinate contractual supply volumes to meet internal Mill requirements and coordinate contractual supply volumes to meet external buyer requirements.
- Coordination of the Contractor network in South Australia. This includes Hooklift Services, Front and Rear Lift Services, Crane Trucks, Other vehicle types if required
- Coordination Management of Processing (Baling) network in South Australia. Coordinate and liaise with Sorting and Baling Operators on recyclable materials flows.
- Coordinate and liaise with the Sorting & Baling Operators to ensure prompt awareness of quality problems
- Coordinate the supply of Equipment with Waste Generators and end users.
- Ensure that company collection equipment (eg bins & baling equipment) are OH&S compliant and maintained as required.
- Facilitate training (including OH&S aspects) on the use of the Company's collection equipment.
- Liaise with Waste Generators and end users to ensure prompt awareness of quality problems and ensure corrective action is taken when quality non-conformances are identified.
- Control and facilitate all recycling equipment purchases or leases.
- Identify potential equipment change outs.
- Ensure equipment providers comply to HSE Standards.
- Ensure that recyclable materials always meet the required domestic and export specifications.
- Manage health and safety to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for all employees, contractors and visitors on site by assisting with the implementation of, and monitoring adherence to, all legal, statutory and OHS&E policies, systems and practices, and by directing corrective action as required.
- Ensure that customer service is timely, efficient and exceeds customer expectations.
- General administration responsibilities including
- Administer the export of various commodities.
- Extraction of Waste Generator activity reports.
- Maintenance of Waste Generator and Transport Provider data base.
- Collate reporting for Baling/sorting operations
- Establish and monitor a litter management regime for the site to comply with EPA license conditions.
- Ensure compliance for Site standards are maintained with zero harm / risk to the environment resulting from emissions such as spillage entering storm water drains, noise and visible emissions.
- Ensure environmental procedures are followed in the event of potential breaches.
- Complete internal environmental reporting.
- Transport, Logistics and/or Depot experience (preferably in recycling, waste management or other service type environment)
- Experience in managing or leading either a direct or indirect a team.
- Experience in developing relationships at multiple levels of an organisation
- Previous experience and active involvement in a change to the strategic direction of a business.

**Demonstrated ability**:

- Strong computer literacy in excel and other related data management software.
- Strong customer service focus and orientation, and a passion for customers.
- Strong schedule creation and on-going management of schedules
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Ability to build and sustain key strategic business relationships.
- Ability to plan, develop and execute business growth strategies.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Good project management skills (including change management programs)
- Ability to work at all levels of the organization.
