The role of Graduate Geoscientist is within the Minerals Geoscience group of the Geological Survey of Queensland (GSQ).

**This position requires**:

- Experience in identifying problems and possible solutions including research, comprehension and critical evaluation of relevant technical information and data.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team
- Ability to follow and maintain effective data management procedures
- Strong written and spoken communication skillsKey duties and accountabilities
- Collect, collate and interpret geoscientific and mineral resource data, through literature review and applied research.
- Assist with or perform analyses on geological samples/specimens as part of a larger project.
- Maintain geoscientific and mineral resource information systems and data management practices.
- Provide support for work programs which form part of a project, including remote field work.
- Prepare written reports and/or technical products in a timely and proactive manner.
- Communicate with GSQ stakeholders, including members of the public and industry.
- Maintain an awareness of current geoscientific developments and strategies by participation in appropriate forums and events.
- Work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues at the project, Group and GSQ-level to achieve high quality outcomes.
- Support the delivery of key projects and initiatives ensuring goals, objectives and milestones are met and are in accordance with departmental project management requirements.
