The Medicare Mental Health Centres, formerly Head to Health, are an important part of the Australia's reformed mental health and wellbeing system.The Medicare Mental Health Centre is supported by funding from Wentwest Primary Health Network through the Australian Government's PHN Program.Parramatta Medicare Mental Health Centre provides the community with a free, safe and welcoming space to access mental health advice, supports and services through multidisciplinary approaches.
Walk-ins will be welcomed, services are confidential, and no appointment or referral will be required.About the service :The services in Parramatta is funded by the Australian Government, to provide a streamlined approach to support better mental health and social wellbeing across the country.The service is tailored to the needs of the community in regional NSW and provides a combination of peer-led recovery and clinical support.The Medicare Mental Health Centre provides a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for people experiencing psychological distress, providing an alternative to presenting to the Emergency Department for low risk individuals, and allowing them to access support from trained mental health professionals within their community, outside a clinical setting.On offer :Based in Paramatta, NSWPermanent, full-time opportunity availablePaying on SCHADs level 3 plus superLeave loading at 17.5%Salary packaging options (up to $15,899 tax free)Meals and entertainment allowance of up to $2,650
Stride Rewards – access to discounts from 100s of retailers (fashion, food and fitness)Excellent trainingand career developmentOne paid wellbeing leave day per yearPurchase up to 5 additional leave days in a 12-month period (pro rata entitlement if part-time)Role overview :The purpose of this role is to provide career development advice, vocational and education assistance to consumers, in tandem with the Medicare Mental Health Centre team, to ensure that they can achieve and maintain sustainable participation in vocational education and employment.Requirements :Completion of a relevant tertiary qualificationExperience working with people with mental health needs or disabilitiesKnowledge or experience in employment services or other social inclusion servicesKnowledge of employment related services, relevant legislation and local labour market trendsKnowledge of local education providers and the admissions systemsSound knowledge and understanding of mental health disordersWell-developed computer, technology and administration skillsMust be eligible to apply / currently hold a WWCCMust hold / be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearanceMust have a driver's licenseStride is committed to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable people.
