We are looking for a HSE Advisor with successful performance in health, safety and environment on Tier 2 construction Projects.
- Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) or equivalent and/or Certificate IV in Environmental Management or equivalent
- At least 1-3 years' experience in HSE with at least 1 of those year's experience in the construction and/or civil engineering industry
- Experience in participating in and interpreting audits and reviews
- Understanding and basic knowledge of state legislative requirements and all Australian Standards relating to the relevant scope of works
- Understanding and basic knowledge of safety legislation, statutes, and ability to interpret any applicable laws or legislation relevant to the Project
- Ability to effectively prioritise and manage time and workload
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills
- Effective interpersonal and written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated decision-making, negotiation and influencing skillsDemonstrated ability to manage and resolve conflict in a high-stress environment

**Responsibilities Include**
Reporting to the Project Manager or HSE Manager, this position will ensure project compliance with HSE requirements and provide guidance and support to workers in implementing HSE Management Plan/s, business management systems and client requirements. The role will be required to:

- Facilitate the HSE risk management process for the Project referencing statutory requirements, business requirements, current industry best practice, and lessons learnt
- Identify site first aid emergency equipment requirements in accordance with relevant legislation, codes of practice and Australian standards
- Ensure inspection, test, and maintenance requirements for emergency and first aid equipment are identified, scheduled, and undertaken
- Facilitate the identification and assessment of potential health hazards and any required worker health surveillance/monitoring
- Administer fitness for work testing in accordance with Health & Safety Management Plan
- Develop, maintain, and support compliance with the Project Health and Safety Management Plan and Environment Management Plan and sub-plans
- Engage and manage Project subcontractors to ensure understanding and compliance with Project and business requirements
- Facilitate WHS consultation, cooperation, and coordination arrangements on the Project, including Pre-Start, Toolbox, WHS Committee etcIdentify minimum HSE training, competency, qualification, and licensing requirements for workers on the Project and ensure requirements are met and recorded before work
