Overview
Join the Radiologic Technologist role at GoHealth Urgent Care. The Radiologic Technologist (RT) works with Medical Providers and/or Medical Assistants to examine and treat GoHealth Urgent Care patients. This role is responsible for applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis, performing and analyzing patient x-rays, and reporting results to Medical Providers. Additional responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of GoHealth Urgent Care Centers. In a collaborative manner, the RT will support Medical Providers, Medical Assistants and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.
Responsibilities
Responsible for x-ray services as needed
Under the direction of the clinical provider, perform x-ray services for patients by applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from newborn to elderly.
Ensure patients are positioned correctly on or in front of equipment and protected during use.
Assist with patient handling as needed (e.g., moving patients in a wheelchair).
Patient Registration
Conduct patient registration, secure required paperwork and insurance documentation, and verify insurance and patient eligibility.
Process co-pays and schedule patient appointments for the assigned center.
Coordinate provider referrals to assigned Specialists.
Answer patient questions regarding care and keep them informed of their status.
Patient Preparation and Rooming
Inform technical staff of patient flow.
Prepare patients for examination by interviewing to verify information, recording medical history, and confirming the purpose of visit.
Perform preliminary physical tests (blood pressure, weight, temperature) for vital signs and escalate critical cases to the provider as needed.
Conduct point-of-care testing as needed (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, hCG) and provide patient information to the provider.
Stocking
Stock supplies and maintain exam rooms, front desk, and reception areas; ensure providers have necessary medical supplies.
Maintain supply inventory levels and regularly check expiration dates on supplies.
Administrative
Maintain medical records and scan charts to patient files.
Answer phone calls, manage daily incoming and outgoing correspondence.
Ensure reception is well maintained and perform courtesy follow-ups with patients.
Perform opening and closing duties, cash handling, end-of-day reporting, and secure the building.
Follow operating instructions to perform daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain QA/QC logs, troubleshoot equipment, and submit repair tickets as needed.
Compensation and benefits: Hourly rate: $43-$55. Bonus eligible up to $600/month.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma required
Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program required
Work Experience
Experience in a clinical setting preferred
Required Licenses/Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire, obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA).
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required at time of hire.
State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required at time of hire as applicable by state law.
