Job Description
Join 9News Sydney as our next State Political Reporter for a 12 month fixed term contract and become a key voice in the state's political narrative. We're looking for an experienced and highly motivated journalist who excels at breaking news.
Day to day you will:
Focus primarily on political news and developments within Sydney and New South Wales.
Contribute to significant stories across various news categories beyond just politics.
Actively seek out and break exclusive news stories.
Dedicate time to building and maintaining a strong network of political contacts.
Unearth exclusive, insightful, and impactful content for broadcast and digital platforms.
Qualifications
What you'll bring:
Proven ability to generate exclusive story ideas and content.
Dedication to building and maintaining a strong network of contacts.
Excellent live reporting and interviewing skills, particularly in breaking news scenarios.
Outstanding writing and a deep knowledge of politics.
Willingness to embrace multiplatform journalism, with a track record of contributing to radio, digital, or social platforms.
