Job Description
The CIO Division provides a broad range of services and support to the department and Australian businesses. We are seeking an experienced Automation Tester to contribute to ICT projects, including the NMI Web Services Enhancement Program, which aims to improve measurement and trade services through web portals, CRM, and automation. The Senior DevOps Automation Test Engineer will focus on enhancing testing capabilities for web applications, mobile apps, web services, and Microsoft Dynamics 365, including CI/CD integration and performance benchmarking.
Key duties and responsibilities
Automation Testing (Functional):
Develop and execute automation tests using TypeScript, C#, Python, ASP.NET Core, YAML for React web portals integrated with Dynamics 365 CRM.
Design tests with frameworks like Playwright and Selenium WebDriver.
Automate UI tests for Dynamics 365 and Power Platform applications using Easy Repro.
Manage automation suites and CI/CD pipelines via Azure DevOps.
Monitor, report, and collaborate on defects and issues.
Lead automation initiatives to improve testing practices.
Non-Functional Testing:
Perform performance, load, and stress testing with JMeter or Azure Load Testing.
Analyze and report performance metrics, utilizing Azure Application Insights.
Automate API integration testing using tools like Postman.
Ensure web accessibility compliance with tools such as WAVE and NVDA.
Configure CI/CD pipelines for non-functional testing and security validation.
Other Attributes:
Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Experience with Azure DevOps and continuous improvement practices.
Key deliverables
Build and manage automated test plans in Azure DevOps.
Refactor and extend test suites for regression and performance testing.
Integrate tests into pipelines with reporting and diagnostics.
Implement test data management and scalability testing strategies.
Lead migration to Azure Load Testing and ensure system performance under peak loads.
Ensure accessibility standards are met and maintained.
Manage release activities and test tool maintenance.
Criteria
Applicants must provide a one-page pitch addressing all criteria, including:
Experience leading end-to-end testing across platforms.
Developing and maintaining automated regression tests with frameworks like Selenium and Playwright.
Automating tests for Dynamics 365 with Easy Repro.
Integrating test suites within Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
Planning and executing performance and load testing with tools like JMeter or Azure Load Testing.
Desirable criteria
Experience with Gherkin and Cucumber.
Ability to work within release schedules and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of web accessibility standards and testing tools.
