Our resilience has helped us through good and tough times, and it still drives us to keep pushing the challenging expectations today.The Demand Forecasting Specialist is responsible for maximizing network revenue by developing accurate and insightful market-level forecasts across key international origin-destination flows, supporting an annual revenue portfolio exceeding $500 million.
This highly analytical and results-driven role requires strong stakeholder management, working closely with teams across Sales, Commercial Planning, Network, and Joint Business partnerships.
With a deep understanding of supply and demand dynamics, you will help shape revenue strategies, responding effectively to market conditions and a rapidly evolving competitive landscape.You'll have –Minimum five years experience in a similar or related functionTertiary Qualifications in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Engineering or another appliedquantitative discipline Strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must be able to synthesizecomplex situations, formulate solution sets and present results in simple, understandable terms Working knowledge of Statistics and forecasting techniques; interest in optimizationproblem-solving, economic game theory, elasticity, and consumer buying behaviour Proven scientific revenue management experience, with current experience within anairline Revenue Management function an advantage Positive and realistic approach –be ready, embrace and champion change & newways of thinking and workingResilient to change, challenges and setbacks Versatile; be prepared to learn and take on new tasks with enthusiasm as requiredSelf-motivated; look for ways to add value and to improve the outcomes for thebusiness Excellent knowledge of airline route structures, along with the understanding of abilityof schedules to impact revenue performance Familiarity with the Altéa reservations system and community-based RM systemssuch as PROS, Sabre or Amadeus Ability to learn fast while making difficult decisions with limited supervision Self-starter; able to work in a high-pressure analytical environment, with changingpriorities and tight deadlines, applying sound business judgment Responsible attitude and professionalism with "can-do" attitude Ability to make independent judgments, calculated risks and decisions while takingownership of job responsibilities Refined skills with MS Office; familiarity with software programs used in conductingquantitative analysis (Oracle, SAS, MS Access, SQL server, Business Objects) Strong oral and written communications skills; ability to communicate, collaborateand co-operate across teams Strong interpersonal skills: diplomacy, presentation and persuasion Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements Why Qantas?
