The Information Management (IM) team within NSW Resources is looking for two Business Analysts (BAs) to consult with business stakeholders and internal technical business units; synthesising and gathering requirements that detail how business is currently conducted (as-is) and how it should be conducted (to-be) for proposed initiatives and projects, as well as projects identified in the IM business plan.
Role 1: Business Analyst (Development)
This role will collaborate with business SMEs, system developers, and other IM staff to define target outcomes, gather requirements, support technical designs, and secure business buy-in to solutions, including user acceptance testing, training, and technical documentation.
Role 2: Business Analyst (Projects)
This role will define target outcomes, gather requirements, prepare business cases, support prioritisation, and assist to manage our portfolio pipeline.
You will work with business managers and SMEs, system architects, external vendors, your colleagues in IM and other project/initiative stakeholders.
For Both Roles, You'll Be
Familiarising yourself with the NSW Resources core business activities across the group, in addition to the IM team responsibilities and key business applications.
Eliciting and documenting business process using tools such as Visio or Miro to construct rich pictures, swim lanes and Entity Relationship Diagrams.
Reviewing and analysing the business requirements, gaps and rules required to implement the identified projects and initiatives – working closely with the business stakeholders, SMEs and IM team.
Collaborating on scope options and supporting initial technical design and delivery of solutions.
Analysing the design of systems, workflows, processes, and business models and making recommendations.
You'll have autonomy in making day-to-day BA decisions within projects, and thus, previous BA experience is required.
