About the School:
Warwick State High School is a vibrant and inclusive learning community of over 680 students and approx 65 teaching staff. Founded in 1912, the school is one of the oldest state secondary educational institutions in Queensland. Our gracious heritage buildings reflect a proud tradition of educational excellence, while modern classrooms and facilities provide the environment and resources to prepare our students for the challenges of the 21st century. The school offers a challenging and balanced curriculum which encourages students to explore options and achieve their personal best.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting in the supervision of education activities under the direction of a teacher, and assist teaching staff with playground and bus supervision.
Assisting in preparing, storing, making available and clearing away teaching equipment and materials.
Contributing to the welfare, health and safety of students including the delivery of first aid. Where the teacher aide is required to administer first aid, the teacher aide would be required to be formally trained in the administration of first aid, and keep such qualifications current. All costs associated with obtaining and maintaining qualifications would be met from school funds.
Assist students with special needs, this may in certain circumstances extend to moving disabled pupils, assisting with positioning, assisting with meals, toileting and dressing of pupils unable to care for themselves.
Displaying respect and empathy for students with high level needs.
This position is a Temporary Part-time role of 32 hours per fortnight (0.42FTE), until 28 February 2025 unless otherwise determined.

Solution-focussed, with the ability to develop strategies to best support students.
Suitable training is essential for working and supporting students with special needs.
