ln this newly created role, we are looking for an Actuary with 5 years general insurance experience. You may be nearly or recently qualified and will be supporting the Chief Actuary of Australia with the management and delivery of all aspects of the Actuarial function. There will be an opportunity for you to be involved in process improvements.

As part of a small Australian team, you will collaborate with and be part of the APAC and Europe Actuarial team allowing you to expand your skillset in your actuarial career.

We are open to the location of the role to Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.

Specific tasks will be under the direction of the Chief Actuary including the following areas:

- Annual and quarterly evaluations
- Financial conditioning reports and financial plans
- Review of Capital
- Produce office portfolio monitoring
- Provide explanations relating to regulatory and regional reserving
- Work with local stakeholders (Underwriting, Claims, Finance) to understand and interpret the business and to explain actuarial decisions
- Support, ad hoc with IFRS17 and the review of reinsurance arrangements
- Collaborate with the APAC and Europe Actuarial team

**SHARE your talent**

We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

- Actuarial Experience: 5 years of relevant experience within the non-life insurance industry.
- Tertiary qualifications: Degree required, preferably in Actuarial studies and qualification with the Institute of Actuaries of Australia (or equivalent) or very close to qualification
- Strong business acumen: An understanding of translating actuarial output into business value.
- Communication: The ability to clearly communicate so stakeholders understand the practical implications of our analyses.
- Software: Proficiency in commonly used actuarial software packages
- Planning and Organisation: An ability to manage multiple tasks and outputs. Assist in planning tasks and deliverables and prioritising.
- Stakeholder management: Able to work with, and influence stakeholders at all levels both locally and remotely.
- Delivery outcome: the ability to delivery under pressure
- Autonomous: Enjoys working autonomously as part of a team
- Working rights: You must have Australian permanent working rights
