Allianz have an exciting opportunity to join our SME Underwriting team as an Assistant SME Underwriter to assist in providing quotations for new business and renewals. This position would suit somebody who thrives in delivering a market leading customer experience by providing professional underwriting advice to our broker partners.

**You'll be responsible for**:

- Case underwrite, assess risk on an individual basis, whilst assisting with the development and retention of existing business.
- Ensure all business underwritten enhances portfolio targets and profitability and that underwriting bias is given to risks that display better than average profitability through selection and prudent underwriting.
- Effectively manage workflows and phone queues to ensure delivery of quality products and services.
- Manage relationships across various distribution channels as per delegated authority limits.
- Accurately interpret, anticipate and provide solutions to customers' needs from available information to design sustainable responses to suit customer circumstances and address their needs.

**Important to your success**:

- An understanding of general insurance products and the policy life cycle.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm and ability to deliver high quality service and positive customer experiences.
- Pay high attention to detail by completing tasks with thoroughness and accuracy and has the ability to quickly identify errors or inconsistencies within information.
- Ability to interpret and analyse complex information, extract meaningful insights and evaluate options for decision making.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with clarity, impact and influence.
