About the roleWork collaboratively with the Clinical Nurse Consultant of the Infection Control Unit to deliver advanced clinical expertise and care in infection control.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values: Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses, and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) (2015) – Generic Level Statements (GLS) Nurse Grade 6 Band 2 and the Queensland Health and Metro North Health's commitments and values, in achievement of the organisational goals and Domains of Practice.
Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
Apply advanced specialist clinical knowledge, experience, and clinical skills in infection control.
Apply critical thinking and reasoning, advanced problem-solving skills, and clinical judgement in relation to infection control.
Respond appropriately to, and provide support and direction to manage, sudden alterations in the health status of the consumer/person using advanced nursing assessment and intervention skills.
Contribute to a positive workplace culture including demonstrating self-awareness and reflection and acting in accordance with professional codes and standards.
