**About Them**
We are partnering with Cleanaway, Australia's leading total waste management solutions provider to recruit an experienced Environmental Business Partner to provide sound support and advice for the diverse business units across QLD. Reporting into the Senior Environment Business Partner QLD, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that environmental compliance and risk are managed effectively and improvement programs are implemented throughout the region.

**About the position**
The role will focus on helping to deliver environmental risk management in QLD through provision of compliance advice and coaching to operational teams, supporting capital projects and implementation of an ambitious work program to drive sustainable improvements.

This is broad role has a number of key scope areas including:

- Implementing strategies to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Facilitating reporting, investigation and management of environmental risks and incidents.
- Assisting with the development, planning and preparation of risk registers and management plans for the sites
- Working with key stakeholders to develop and implement improvement initiatives and technical programs of work.
- Engaging with the environmental regulators to ensure strong working relationships.

The role is part of a dedicated and collaborative national Environment team supporting the business's operational activities across Australia.

**About You**
You enjoy being in a role where you are the first point of contact in providing environmental advice across a range of high-risk operating locations, and across a diverse workforce. You enjoy getting out on site and are proactive in your approach to supporting the business as you collaborate to understand their challenges, both current and future, and take accountability for helping people in understanding their responsibilities in relation to the environment.

You have tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or equivalent and at least 4 years' experience utilising your qualifications.

You are well versed in environmental compliance with relevant environmental authorities including the management of approvals and licencing requirements.

Ideally you will have:

- Previous experience in blue-collar, high-risk industry environments or equivalent.
- Excellent written communication and report writing skills.
- Strong time management, organisational skills and attention to detail
