About Liberator
We assist individuals with complex communication needs to connect with their world through innovative AAC devices and lifelong support. As one of Australia's leading AAC providers, we're building a national team structure that puts regional expertise and relationships at the heart of what we do.
The Opportunity - Home-based within VIC ,Full-time or Part-time (0.8FTE)
We're creating a new leadership role for someone who wants to shape the future of AAC service delivery across Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia. You'll lead a team of AAC Consultants while maintaining hands-on involvement with complex cases that challenge and inspire you.
This isn't a traditional management role. We need someone who can balance strategic thinking with clinical excellence - someone who gets energised by both coaching team members and solving tricky AAC puzzles alongside families and speech pathologists.
What You'll Do
Lead Your Regional Team
Manage & develop a team of entry-level and Senior AAC Consultants across VIC/SA
Conduct regular performance reviews & create professional development plans
Identify skill gaps & provide coaching, training, and mentoring
Allocate workflow strategically to maximise team strengths and outcomes
Drive Regional Strategy
Oversee trial and post-trial support offerings, outcomes and team performance metrics
Develop regional strategies that align with our national goals
Manage regional budget and resource allocation with the Consultant Director
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and organisations across your regions
Stay Connected to Consultant Work
Maintain customer contact, on strategically important or complex cases
Handle escalated customer issues requiring management-level intervention
Stay up to date with best practice AAC implementation for your team
Collaborate Nationally
Work alongside other Regional Managers and the Consultant Director
Contribute to national strategy and service delivery improvements
Share regional insights that strengthen our organisation-wide approach
Who We're Looking For
Essential:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Speech Pathology or Occupational Therapy with specific AAC experience and interest
Minimum 4+ years AAC industry experience
Experience and understanding of Liberator's AAC Devices, software and related vocabularies
Previous management and leadership experience in healthcare, education, or assistive technology
Deep understanding of AAC principles, products, and implementation strategies
Excellent communication skills—you can translate complex ideas for diverse audiences
Strong organisational abilities and experience juggling competing priorities

An understanding of business priorities and ability to support the team to meet business requirements
What Will Set You Apart:
Experience with budget allocation, delegation and management
Advanced knowledge of regional service delivery systems and funding mechanisms (NDIS, state-based funding)
Track record of achieving goals through coaching and supporting team members
Strategic thinking paired with practical problem-solving
Why This Role Might Be For You
You might be our ideal candidate if:
You're an experienced Speech Pathologist or Occupational Therapist with AAC experience, who's ready to amplify your impact through leadership
You get as much satisfaction from helping a team member succeed as you do from a successful AAC implementation
You can see the big picture while still caring about the details
You're excited by the challenge of building something new
You want to shape AAC service delivery across entire regions
You value collaboration and believe the best outcomes come from working together
Our Selection Process
This is a new role, and we're looking for the right person. We're interested in your:
Leadership approach: How you've led (formally or informally) and your vision for developing others
Strategic thinking: Your ability to balance big-picture planning with day-to-day operations
Team development philosophy: How you'd build a high-performing regional team
Resource management: Your approach to allocating budgets, time, and people effectively
Communication style: How you'd handle stakeholder relationships and escalated situations
