About The Role
Working closely with the Senior Business Development Manager, the position of Marketing and Business Development Consultant is responsible for contributing to the execution of both practice group and firm marketing and business development initiatives.

This broad and dynamic role involves close collaboration with all Marketing & Business Development team members, partners and other lawyers. You will leverage your skills and insights across a wide range of activities including digital marketing, campaign execution, business development planning, data analysis/market research, proposal writing, award submissions and key client management. Crucially, you will take a lead role in managing the firm's website and digital communications. Your expertise in digital marketing will assist in optimising the firm's online presence and enhancing its digital footprint.

Overview Of Key Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities include:

Digital marketing and communications

  • manage the firm's social media and content strategy, and draft, update and publish content on the firm's website and social media channels
  • manage the firm's relationship with website agency, Soul & Wolf
  • monitor the firm's social media channels (including LinkedIn, X, Facebook and Instagram)
  • champion the firm's CRM (UpperSigma/Salesforce) and e-marketing campaign software (Vuture), including managing vendor relationships
  • execute e-marketing campaigns using the firm's email marketing software Vuture for both external and internal communications, including legal updates and newsletters, while tracking key performance indicators.
  • analyse and communicate Google Analytics data, website SEO statistics and e-marketing campaign data

Award programs, submissions and proposals

  • project manage and prepare legal directory submissions for Chambers Asia Pacific, Legal 500 Asia Pacific, and other award program submissions
  • prepare pitch documents, including presentations, proposals and capability statements (minimal)

Projects and design

  • assist in designing marketing materials, including university guides (for law graduate and clerkship roles) and advertisements for community group publications.
  • support firm initiatives including ABL Women, ABL Pride and graduate recruitment
  • lead process improvement projects within the marketing and business development function
  • investigate and develop potential new programs (e.g. use of video, podcasts etc.)

Business development

  • Assist the Senior Business Development Manager with:

  • the implementation of BD initiatives for practice groups, client teams and individual partners and senior lawyers

  • client feedback reviews (post-matter) to gain insights into areas for improvement
  • the firm's strategic client program by attending team meetings and ensuring follow up actions are completed

  • Conduct 1:1 BD coaching meetings with senior associates and lawyers

About you
You are a Marketing & Business Development Consultant with tertiary qualifications in marketing/ communications and have over three years of experience in professional services. With a high level of attention to detail and strong project management skills, you confidently manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes under pressure in a timely manner. You bring excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to work effectively with senior stakeholders and collaborate seamlessly across teams. You are proficient in Microsoft Office, experienced with CRM platforms like Salesforce, and comfortable using tools such as Vuture, Zoom Webinar, and Zoom Meeting. You are social media savvy with a strong writing ability, and familiarity with design platforms like Canva, Adobe InDesign, and Photoshop (where required).
