MacKellar are an industry leader in the mining and civil earthmoving industries with over 50 years' experience. We supply and maintain a large fleet of heavy earthmoving equipment across Australia and take pride in our people, our safety culture, and maintaining our equipment to a high standard.

Due to continued growth, we have a new opportunity for an experienced Commercial and Technical Support Engineer to be based in our head office on the Sunshine Coast

Responsibilities:

  • Analysis of projects to determine the value drivers of the contract model to improve outcomes for the client and Mackellar
  • Track and manage project change notices, variations and correspondence to ensure timely delivery and resolution
  • Apply estimating, costing expertise and claim management to improve financial and operational outcomes at each project
  • Contribute to the financial and commercial performance at each project
  • Liaise with site engineers, superintendents and managers to ensure consistent project reporting
  • Depending on experience, provide mentorship and leadership to developing engineers
  • Assist in reviewing project performance monthly
  • Relief PM/Mining Engineer as required

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Mining or Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • At least 5 years' experience in an operational mining engineering capacity (preferably open cut).
  • Previous experience in contract management under various contract models.
  • Strong and demonstrated skills in cost and contract management.
  • Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capability.
  • Ability to travel regularly to visit project technical and operational staff.
  • A genuine commitment to maintaining best practices in health and safety.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and time-management skills.
