The role
We are looking for a practitioner to join our team with a view to growing their skills and experience in a dynamic environment. We are looking for a professional with no less than 2 years of experience. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with employer clients to deliver people solutions that support the achievement of their goals. We provide our team members with on-the-job training and mentoring from experts in the field.
The role will have a focus on workplace investigations, payroll assurance and employee relations however the successful candidate will involve consulting service across the full spectrum of IR an HR , for example:
- Drafting of employment contracts and policies
- Case research, case preparation and other advocacy assistance
- Industrial instrument interpretation and compliance advice
- Payroll audit and assurance
- Workplace investigations
- Performance and development advice
- Discipline and dismissal advice
- Enterprise bargaining
- Organisational restructuring advice
- Facilitated discussions
- Employee engagement and cultural reviews
- Training
About You
- Professional with no less than 2 years' experience post graduation, with a degree in Law, Industrial Relations, Human Resources or related field.
- Passionate about employee relations and a thirst for learning.
- Research skills or the ability to rapidly acquire such skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- High level competency in utilising data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel.
- Payroll processing experience would be an advantage.
- Excellent client service skills, including the ability to engage with people across a broad spectrum of backgrounds in a professional manner.
- Excellent personal organisation and time management skills including the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, manage competing demands, adapt to rapid changes in priorities and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional problem solving and communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to analyse complex issues and adapt communication style for the audience.
Qualifications and Experience Qualifications
- Degree level qualification in Law, Industrial Relations or Human Resources or related field.
Experience
- Experience working in Industrial Relations or Human Resources roles (e.g. consulting, law firm, in-house) for no less than 2 years.
Competencies
- Demonstrated ability to research and apply developing knowledge of human resources and/or industrial relations concepts, practices and requirements to develop, implement and review high quality people solutions for clients (highly regarded).
- Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to engage with people across a broad spectrum of backgrounds in a professional manner and a willingness to undertake what is required to ensure client satisfaction.
- Excellent personal organisation and time management skills including the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, manage competing demands, changes in priorities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability in effectively driving performance and consistently delivering results and able to see a project through to completion in the face of resistance or setbacks.
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to analyse complex issues and adapt communication style for the audience.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective member of a team, contributing to a positive workplace culture.
- High level competency in data analysis, utilising tools such as Microsoft Excel.
