ABOUT CANNINGTON

Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead. Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.

Flights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp—the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track. The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We have two opportunities available, one Permanent position, and the other a 12month Fixed-Term contract. Both positions are on an 8:6 roster, FIFO from Brisbane, Townsville, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay shires.

As the Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for sustaining and optimising equipment availability through the design and implementation of safe, low-risk, and cost-effective equipment strategies, defect elimination, and maintenance engineering support.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:

  • Lead fault-finding investigations & implementing defect elimination solutions
  • Supervise condition monitoring activities & reviewing completed PM02s
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop engineering requirements & plans
  • Manage service providers & vendors for mechanical works

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

  • Reliability-centred maintenance & preventative maintenance strategies
  • Root Cause Analysis for fixed plant equipment
  • Bulk materials handling equipment & process plant systems
  • Vibration analysis (desirable)
  • SAP & asset management practices

Qualifications for this position are:

  • Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
  • Current C Class Drivers Licence
