Embark on an exciting journey as a
Senior Analytics Engineer
at Polygon, where you will have significant ownership over our data systems and insights capabilities. We are seeking a high-performing analytics engineer to unify our massive datasets, build scalable data pipelines, and deliver actionable insights that drive our product and business decisions. You will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining a reliable, queryable data system that spans billions of API calls daily and user subscription data. Beyond the technical work, you'll be instrumental in defining how we measure success and uncovering opportunities for growth through data-driven insights.

Responsibilities

  • Build systems to unify and query massive datasets, including API usage data stored in S3 and subscription data in Stripe.
  • Develop and maintain roll-ups and pipelines for scalable, time-based analysis of billions of daily events.
  • Own and evolve platform usage and feature performance metrics to enable clear measurement of product impact.
  • Design, implement, and maintain dashboards and visualization tools using frameworks like Grafana or equivalent.
  • Leverage advanced data science methodologies to validate hypotheses and uncover statistically significant insights.
  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and accuracy across all systems and reporting tools.
  • Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business teams to inform strategy with data-driven insights.
  • Write reliable and maintainable code for ETL pipelines, data queries, and analysis scripts.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or a related field.
  • Expertise in building and maintaining data pipelines, ETL workflows, and querying massive datasets.
  • Experience with cloud-based storage solutions such as S3 and analytics tools like Grafana.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and at least one programming language commonly used for data processing (prefer Go and Python).
  • Proficiency in designing scalable systems for data roll-ups and time-series analysis.
  • Ability to apply rigorous statistical methodologies and validate insights with precision.
  • Preferred experience with Stripe data integrations and usage metrics for SaaS platforms.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
