About the Role

We're on the lookout for a friendly and enthusiastic Recreational Activities Officer to help plan and deliver engaging lifestyle and wellbeing programs for our residents. From organising games and craft sessions to accompanying residents on outings, no two days are the same. You'll be helping to bring joy, purpose and connection to the lives of older Australians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and delivering daily lifestyle and recreational activities tailored to residents' interests and abilities
  • Encourage and support resident participation to enhance wellbeing and social connection
  • Set up and pack down activity areas, ensuring safety and accessibility
  • Accompany residents on outings and excursions as required
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of resident participation and progress
  • Work collaboratively with the broader care and lifestyle team to provide holistic support
  • Support cultural, spiritual and special event celebrations within the home

What We're Looking For

  • Certificate III in Leisure and Health
  • Previous experience in a similar role within aged care is desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, respectful approach
  • Creativity and initiative when planning and running activities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Current police check or willingness to obtain
  • COVID-19 vaccination as per government requirements
  • Valid First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain)
  • Full driver's licence (desirable for outings)
