What's the role?

Financial Markets & Treasury Operations forms part of Institutional Banking Services under Group Operations.

Institutional Banking Services supports the Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB) and we pride ourselves on being a business unit that is equipped to meet the ever-changing needs of the market, while remaining committed to our different customers, stakeholders, and products.

The key focus of this role is to create and maintain a business unit that is focussed on increasing customer satisfaction, developing a high performing and skilled workforce and cost-efficient business practices. In this role, you'll handle daily operational processing to ensure timely and accurate payments, confirmations, reconciliations, and investigations. As the central contact for loan market and trade-related queries, you'll manage issue resolution for internal and external clients. Ensuring business-as-usual concerns are escalated appropriately to supervisors or managers. Completing daily checklists with attention to unresolved items is also a key part of the role.

What do I need?

  • Demonstrated experience in Financial Markets or Settlements
  • Specific product knowledge would be advantageous (Securities products such as European & Domestic Bonds, Repo , Money Market products/Deposits Money Market financial transactions). 
  • Specific system knowledge advantageous (Austraclear, RITS , Euroclear , Murex & CTM)
  • Reliable and quick to learn new tasks, able to pick up processes and systems with ease
  • Excellent focus on attention to detail with the capability to work and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
