Cropping Manager
Gunn Agri Partners is pioneering a new era in sustainable farming and ecological stewardship. Through our newly developed platform, we're reimagining large-scale agriculture by integrating regenerative cropping (both irrigated and rain-fed) and livestock operations with high-integrity, biodiverse carbon credit projects. At the core of this mission is our commitment to ecological restoration in high-priority regions across Eastern Australia—blending productivity with planet-positive impact.
We are now looking for an experienced Irrigation Cropping Manager to lead our irrigation cropping operations across our large-scale aggregation in the Emerald region in Central Queensland. Working alongside the Aggregation Manager, you'll manage production programs, optimise irrigation systems, and develop a high-performing team to deliver strong farming outcomes.
What You'll Do
• Oversee day-to-day irrigation cropping operations to deliver high-performing, innovative farming outcomes.
• Manage and optimise irrigation systems, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
• Lead, train and develop the cropping team to achieve high performance and safety standards.
• Work with managers and agronomists to plan budgets, cropping schedules and infrastructure projects.
• Drive continuous improvement and adopt new technologies to enhance productivity.
About You
• You have experience managing large-scale irrigated cropping operations (cotton experience is a bonus; wheat and barley also valuable).
• You bring strong agronomy knowledge and love being hands-on in the field.
• You're a natural leader who can coach, motivate and develop a high-performing team.
• You're confident using farm technology systems, including AgWorld, tractor GPS (e.g. GreenStar) and moisture monitoring probes.
• You have strong literacy, numeracy and record-keeping skills.
• Tertiary qualifications in Agriculture, Agronomy or Farm Management are desirable, but your practical experience speaks just as loudly.
What We Offer:
• Be part of a pioneering, sustainability-driven agribusiness.
• Work with a professional team backed by institutional investment and industry expertise.
• Opportunities for professional growth and long-term career development.
• Competitive remuneration package and supportive workplace culture.
• Comfortable on site-housing and vehicle.
About Meldora Land Management:
Meldora Land Management, a platform launched by Gunn Agri Partners, draws inspiration from the Australian native eucalyptus species Melliodora (commonly known as Yellow Box), symbolising its strong connection to Australia's natural environment.
Meldora Land Management focuses on mixed farming enterprises that integrate sustainable agricultural production with ecological restoration. The platform owns and operates large-scale rainfed and irrigated row crop and livestock farms across high-priority ecological regions in Eastern Australia. By embedding biodiversity restoration directly into farming practices, Meldora Land Management advances environmental health alongside agricultural productivity.
A key innovation of the Meldora Land Management Platform is its delivery of high-integrity, biodiverse carbon credits using the Environmental Plantings (EP) method. This approach supports carbon sequestration and biodiversity projects, enabling sustainable farming systems that contribute meaningfully to climate action while regenerating farming land.
Through this model, Meldora Land Management champions a future where agricultural development and ecological stewardship coexist, driving value for both the environment and the farming community.
