About Us

Heights is a vibrant café and eatery serving the local community with quality food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We are open 7 days a week and are now expanding into night operations. To support this, we're looking for a skilled and reliable chef who can take ownership of the kitchen during evening service.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Chef to join our team and manage the kitchen from Monday to Sunday, 4 PM – 10 PM. You will be responsible for preparing meals, maintaining quality standards, managing food safety, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes to a consistent high standard.
  • Manage evening kitchen operations independently and ensure all tasks are completed.
  • Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control.
  • Maintain stock levels, assist with ordering, and minimise food waste.
  • Follow food safety, hygiene, and OH&S standards.
  • Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Keep kitchen and equipment clean and organised at all times.

Requirements

  • Previous chef or cook experience (minimum 2 years preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and handle a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Food Safety Certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Flexibility to work evenings (Monday to Sunday, 4 PM – 10 PM).
