About the Cloud Support Engineer Role
As we continue to expand, we are seeking a Cloud Support Engineer to join our team In this role, you will provide crucial support to our customers, assisting with the deployment, management, and troubleshooting of cloud infrastructure and services.
You will work closely with a team of skilled professionals to help maintain and optimise cloud systems, ensuring they run efficiently and cost-effectively. This is a dynamic role, offering opportunities to gain hands-on experience in cloud environments, work directly with clients, and contribute to a variety of exciting projects.
This role will participate in an after hours on-call roster with appropriate shifts, penalty rates and stand-down times.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for AWS cloud services, assisting customers with issues and inquiries.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve cloud-related incidents, escalating complex issues to senior engineers when needed.
- Raise, manage, and track support tickets using service desk tools.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks, including updates, patches, and backups, to ensure the health and performance of cloud systems.
- Use monitoring tools to proactively identify and address potential issues, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud environments, configurations, incidents, and resolutions.
- Collaborate with team members to implement best practices and improve system performance.
- Provide training and support to customers on AWS tools, features, and best practices to enhance their cloud experience.
- Analyse system performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to optimize cloud resources.
- Ensure cloud environments adhere to security policies and compliance requirements, conducting regular audits and implementing necessary security measures.
About You
- 2-3 years of experience in a cloud support or similar technical role.
- Proven experience with AWS cloud services, including hands-on management and troubleshooting.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to effectively troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues.
- Experience using service desk and ticketing systems.
- Familiarity with cloud monitoring tools and practices to ensure system performance and uptime.
- Ability to create and maintain detailed and accurate documentation of cloud environments, incidents, and resolutions.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to work effectively with various technical teams and support customers.
- Knowledge of cloud security practices and compliance requirements, with experience in implementing and maintaining security measures.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
- Extra points for experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) to streamline cloud operations and maintenance tasks.
