Occupational Therapist Senior

An exciting opportunity exists for an Occupational Therapist Senior to work within the Emergency Department on a 7-day roster (including weekends and public holidays) at both Nambour General Hospital and Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Birtinya. This position requires senior level generalist OT skills with senior skills in one or more clinical areas of OT (hand therapy, trauma / minor head injury, acute orthopaedic, and/or geriatric areas of practice are preferred).

As a highly functioning multidisciplinary team member, deliver high level Occupational Therapy clinical services and leadership across specific work units, to stakeholders/customers of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service and Queensland Health.

Key responsibilities include:

Deliver independent high level Occupational Therapy clinical practice with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision. Exercise professional judgement to a complex caseload, adapting routine clinical practice based on valid and reliable evidence.

Provide high level clinical advice, education and influence towards a common patient-centred vision and direction to professional operational teams and relevant stakeholders regarding service delivery.

Provide leadership oversight and clinical practice supervision to less experienced Occupational Therapy practitioners and students as delegated

Take a leadership role in the monitoring of professional clinical standards and outcomes, service improvement activities, Performance and Development Plans (PDP), quality activities, evidence-based practice, clinical research programs.

Remuneration based pro rata on equivalent full time value up to $157,359 p.a., comprising salary rates: $ $69.55 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP4) (Fixed Term Temporary part time positions available, hours negotiable for up to 12 months with possibility of extension).
