Princes specializes in supplying Accommodation and Health care linen to a wide range of accommodation providers and health care facilities across multiple states.

The company operates seven laundry facilities, including four in Melbourne, two in Queensland and one in South Australia, employing more than 700 people.

Princes Laundry Services - Kunda Park on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, is actively looking for a motivated and adaptable individual to join our team as a full time Maintenance Mechanic. This position offers an immediate start.

This key leadership role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team within a well-established organization. Candidates should possess the ability to operate efficiently in a fast paced, high-pressure environment, with a focus on safety, quality, reliability and teamwork. Flexibility regarding work hours and availability are critical for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repairing and maintaining plant machinery and equipment, including continuous batch washing machines, dryers, ironer lines, conveyors, compressors and pumps.
  • Troubleshooting and replacing control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, push buttons, contactors, and motor starters (low voltage)
  • Performing work order repairs, inspections, and necessary adjustments
  • Fabricating and modifying new and existing equipment as needed.
  • Participating in safety, health, and environmental programs
  • Conduct other ad-hoc tasks as required.

In this role, you will work a changing shift schedule and on a rotating weekend.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience with pneumatics, mechanics, basic repairs, and fabrication.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to conduct mechanical repairs (eg replacing chains, belts and bearings)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • The ability to set up and operate welders, drill presses grinders, hand tools and other metal working equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of computer software and a willingness to learn maintenance systems.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement
  • Flexibility to work PM shift, including weekends and public holidays
  • Reliable, responsible, and proactive attitude

A post-secondary education and / or a technical trade certificate is highly regarded. Candidates with prior experience in laundry equipment maintenance and repair or has dual trade or experience in both fields will be given preference.
