We are currently seeking applications for a Project Manager, to join the Change Management team within Shared Services SA at The Department of Treasury & Finance for a period of 12 months.

Remuneration: ASO7 – Salary Range ($108,109 - $116,864 p.a.).

About the opportunity:

We are seeking a Project Manager with current experience who will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of designated projects and resources to deliver successful project results that align to the strategic objectives of Shared Services SA and support a coordinated organisation wide framework.

The Project Manager will manage nominated projects within SSSA and across the public sector, through all phases with specific emphasis on achieving quality project and business outcomes through understanding stakeholder needs and delivering on time and within budget expectations. This will be achieved by monitoring, tracking and reporting of project deliverables, identifying and mitigating project risks and communicating effectively with stakeholders to enable the achievement of project deliverables by agreed deadlines.

The Project Manager will also ensure that the appropriate Governance, Compliance and Reporting arrangements are developed and maintained through the project lifecycle and embed these arrangements across a diverse set of project related Committees and Working Groups.

About you

To be successful you will have:

Demonstrated experience in applying expert project management knowledge to effectively lead and undertake complex projects (including Machinery of Government changes), which have critical importance and significant impact on organisational objectives.
Experience in planning, prioritising and organising work for self and others to achieve goals and meet deadlines, including dealing with competing demands and managing multiple projects and tasks in a complex environment.
Experience in leading and undertaking transitions or projects, which have critical importance to organisational objectives.
Proven high level communication skills (verbal and written).
Ability to effectively lead and manage staff to foster initiative, promote teamwork, achieve outcomes, evoke creative and innovative thinking, and meet deadlines.
Experience in liaising effectively and working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, to facilitate cooperation and support in achieving outcomes and to establish and maintain strong effective working relationships.
Ability to identify strategic and operational issues, think laterally and apply analytical, qualitative and research skills to develop appropriate creative strategies for resolution.
A commitment to pursue excellence in all aspects of business, and to share lessons learned and implement best practices.
High level knowledge in project management and an ability to convey this knowledge to others.
Ability to determine new creative ways to employ project teams, distribute responsibilities and challenge others to develop as leaders while clarifying roles and responsibilities
Demonstrated ability to manage day to day client interaction and expectations for multiple or large-scale projects, including the anticipation of client needs and the proposal of alternative business solutions
Ability to continually seek and capitalise on opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships, and to develop a knowledge of each client's business, organisation and objectives.
Demonstrated experience in the application of the relevant legislation, policies and procedures, including Code of Ethics, EEO and cultural inclusion.
An understanding of the legislative requirements of the Work Health and Safety Act 2012.
An understanding of and ability to work/manage to the spirit and principles of AS ISO 31000:2018 Risk management – Guidelines.
